Lester Stanley, 81, of Rockwall passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall.
He was born July 29, 1933 to Ira and Eunice (Hagar) Stanley in Winters. In 1951, Lester married Quinnelle Stehle. Shortly there after he joined the Army, where he served as a corporal, spending most of his time in Japan. After being honorably discharged in 1955, he returned to the states and started his own business. Lester was the owner of A + B Mufflers Shops in Harlingen, TX and several additional shops in the Rio Grand Valley for 15 years. He was the founder of the ESPA, Exhaust Systems Professional Association, and a member of the Church of Christ. In 1987, Lester remarried Geneiva Riethmayer.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Quinnelle and second wife Geneiva; his son, Kerry Stanley; and a sister, Loreta Ray.
He is survived by a son, Wendell Stanley and wife, Connie of Rockwall, TX; a daughter, Cyrena Stanley and husband John Stephens of Houston, TX; two sisters, Elreta Day of Farmington, NM and Nelda Scott and husband Abe of Goldsmith, TX; and granddaughter, Christina Daley and husband Nolan and two great-grandchildren of Allen, TX.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, August 14 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 15 at 9th Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Crews Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans or a favorite charity.
