Martha Broz 81 of Lowake passed away Monday September 1, 2014, at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, Texas. She was born April 8, 1933, in San Angelo, Texas to CS (Charlie) and Lucy (Havlak) Bubenik. Martha attended Veribest and San Angelo High School. Martha married Stanley Broz on May 2, 1951, in Wall, Texas. They farmed in Wall until 1958 when they moved to Lowake, Texas and farmed and ranched there until Stanley passed away in April 2005. Martha was Postmaster in Lowake for 33 years starting in 1973. She was a member of the Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rowena VFW Auxiliary, Lowake Community Center, Catholic Daughters, St. Joseph Alter Society, Paint Rock PTA and a strong supporter of stock shows, and the 4-H and FFA programs of the Concho Valley. Martha loved making the famous Lowake Ranch prickly pear, mesquite bean, and jalapeno jellies with her very special friend Kay Halfmann for 30 plus years. Her hobbies were fishing, hunting, canning, and grandchildren. Her house was always open whomever her family brought home. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley, brother Charlie ( Sonny) Bubenik and special aunt Julie (Teta) Havlak. She is survived by her children, Gary Broz and wife Georgia of Liberty, Texas; Debbie Halfmann and Bob Franke; and Carl Broz and wife Cassie of Veribest, Texas. She is also survived by nine grand-children: Jimmy Lee, Shauna Broz, Roxanne Weatherford and Husband Will, Jonathan Broz, Cristafer Broz, Zachary Broz, Nicholas Broz, Cortny Broz, and Andrew Broz. She was also blessed with three great-grand- children, Kenedy Weatherford, Kanon Weatherford and Brighton Broz; along with one brother Larry Bubenik and wife Mickie of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by brother- in- law Warren Broz and Wife Bernie of Liberty Hill, Texas and sister- in -law Dianne Pelzel and Husband Louis of San Angelo, Texas. Rosary will be said Friday September 5th at 5:30 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 6th at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Rowena, Texas. Following the burial, there will be a lunch celebrating Martha’s life. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lowake Community Center PO Box 41; Lowake, Tx 76855.
