Ollie Fay Poindexter

On Saturday, September 13, 2008 Ollie Fay Poindexter, 54, of San Angelo, joined her father and sister in heaven.

Ollie was born April 22, 1954 in San Angelo to Ruben L. “Sonny” and Peggy (Gartrell) Gann. On April 28, 1969 she married the love of her life, David Poindexter. They enjoyed over 39 wonderful years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ruben “Sonny” Gann and a sister Kay Neethling.

Ollie is survived by husband, David, of San Angelo; children, Tracy Medrano and husband, Wayne, and Brent Poindexter and wife, Salina, all of San Angelo and Jaime Vasquez and husband, Tony, of Ballinger. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, and Lance Medrano, and Dana, Megan, Devin and David Vasquez; her mother, Peggy of Ballinger; a special niece, Samantha Pollard of Blanco; and many other family and friends.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 16 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at the Miles Cemetery.

Ollie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her grandchildren were the love and light of her life. Her passion in life was cooking for her family and anyone else who walked in her door. She was a caregiver to many.

Our precious mother and grandmother will be greatly missed, but we will see her again one day.
