Geraldine (Deanie) Lamb Fisher

Geraldine (Deanie) Lamb Fisher, 66, of Ballinger passed away early Wednesday morning, October 1, 2008 at her home.

Deanie was born August 8, 1942 in Milam County, Texas to William Leslie and Helen Lucille (Chambers) Lamb. On December 22, 1969 she married Robert Daniel Fisher in San Antonio, Texas. The Fisher family has lived in Ballinger since 1977 and has contributed in meaningful ways to the community. Deanie was a member of Ninth Street Church of Christ, and she was very active in Bearcat Band Boosters in the 1980’s and 1990’s. She worked for Telephone Industries/Electrospace for over 17 years as supervisor and in quality control. She was also employed with Gerber Children’s Wear for several years and was an assistant manager for Thom McAn Shoe Stores in San Antonio and Houston. She will be remembered as a loving, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always had a warm, beautiful smile for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Harry Dale Lamb and Larry Lale Lamb.

Deanie is survived by her husband, Robert, of Ballinger; and her daughter, Helen Denise Richards and husband, Ron, of Fort Davis; her stepchildren, Linda Kay Marino of Brownwood, Daniel Jonathan Fisher and wife, Debbie, Cynthia Ann Hall, and Donna Gay Fisher and husband, Frank, all of Ballinger. Also surviving are her sisters, Helen Joyce Gravel and husband, Jack, of Rockport; Shirley Mae Crisp also of Rockport; life-long friends, Beverly Johnson and husband, Phil, of San Antonio, and Sissy Rodriguez of Pipe Creek. Deanie had ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, October 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 Saturday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. at 9th Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowena Protestant Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of San Angelo.
