William (Bill) Harmon, 83, of Rowena, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at his residence.
He was born February 21, 1925 in Keouk County, Iowa to George and Jenny (Lewis) Harmon. He served in the Army during WWII and was employed as a truck driver approximately 20 years for various trucking firms in areas that covered several states. He married Nancy Baldwin Eppes August 27, 1995 in Teague, Texas, and the couple has lived in Rowena for the past few years. He was a member of the New Life Refuge Church in Ballinger, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William D. Harmon, Jr., a son, Mike Dennison, and a daughter, Joyce.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home; his blended family consisting of sons, John J. Harmon and wife, Lisa, of Madras, OR; Charles Harmon and wife, Anne, of Prineville, OR; Buck Harmon and wife, Esther, of Prineville, OR; daughters, Barbara Frischman and husband, Vern, of Rowena; Viola Wilson of Portland, OR; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Harmon of Gresham, OR.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in Oregon. A local memorial service will also be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Vista Care Hospice of San Angelo.
