James Teplicek, 80, of Rowena passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his residence.
He was born May 2, 1934 in Rowena to Henry and Viasta (Halamicek) Teplicek. After graduating from Ballinger High School, James attended Texas A&M University and graduated with his degree in 1956. He was a stock farmer in the Rowena area his entire life. In 1962, he married Beverly Walther. They shared 52 loving years together. James was involved with several organizations; Sons of Herman, a member of SPJST, and a charter member of the Rowena Volunteer Fire Department. He was also involved with the Elks Lodge in San Angelo, Lions Club, and Water Supply Corp. of Rowena.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Viasta; sister, Patsy; brother, Henry Jr.; in-laws, Edwin and Elizabeth Walther; and brother-in-law Edwin Jr.
He is survived by his wife; three sons Brad Teplicek and wife Pam of Rowena, Craig Teplicek and wife Phyllis of McAllen, and Grant Teplicek and wife Laurie of Vancourt. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Coleton, Courtney, Reece, Brandon, Cammi, Hunter, Hutson, and Holt Teplicek; two brother-in-laws, Wallace Walther and wife Celeta and Wayne Walther and wife Mary Lou; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, October 6 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 7 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Rowena.
