Carolyn Brown Balkum

Carolyn Brown Balkum, 70, of Ballinger, Texas was born to Henry and Mattie Brown on October 5, 1944 in Ballinger. She attended school at George Washington Carver until the 10th grade; upon completion she worked as a CNA in most of the nursing homes in Ballinger and San Angelo. She then went on to be a home health aide until her health started to fail her.

The Lord touched Carolyn’s hand and he called her home on October 6, 2014. Her parents Henry and Mattie, her sister Janie, her brother Freddy, and her grandmother Ada Walls all preceded her in death. In passing she leaves to mourn four sister, Nancy Brown Johnson and husband Claude of Ballinger, Faye Brown of Ballinger, Bobbie Benson of Waco, and Jean Peterson of Midland; one brother Steve Brown of Ballinger; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, and many friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 12 at Jesus Christ Church in Ballinger with Rev. Theodore Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ballinger.

The family would like to express their most sincere thanks and appreciation for the many kind expressions of sympathy extended during their period of bereavement. Your generosity and kindness shall always be remembered.
