Wesley Gordon Ogle

Wesley Gordon Ogle, 76, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014 at his residence.

He was born November 14, 1937 in Ballinger to Lilburn and Naomi (Jones) Ogle. He served his country for twenty years in the US Army and retired honorably as Sgt. First Class in 1976. He married Rita Annette Lyons on June 20, 1964, and they shared fifty loving years together. After retirement, Wesley attended carpentry school in Clarksville, TN and returned to Ballinger in 1977. He worked in home construction and in the oil field. He enjoyed working with his hands and making arts and crafts with Rita. He also worked for BYOB water store in Ballinger. Wesley loved spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Runnels County Bass Club.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Cody, Milton, Billy, Burl, and Wayne Ogle; and a sister, Lahoma Trammel.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; sons, Jerry Ogle and wife Cheryl of Newport News, VA, Johnny Stephens and wife Phyliss of Leesville, LA. , and Danny Ogle and wife Tracy of San Angelo; his daughter, Natalie Fischer of Ballinger; sisters, Barbara Bryant and Wanda Harris; brothers, Forrest and Robert Ogle; his grandchildren, Jeannie, Jennifer, Julie, Ryan, Hayden, Amanda, John Garrett, Austin Reed, Meagan, Lindsay, and Casey; and great-grandchildren, Levi Mason Dixon, Wesley Gordon and Jordan. Also surviving is a special sister-in-law, Donna Jean.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger with family visitation to follow. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Monday, October 13, at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Hugh Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger.
