Dolly Irene Farmer passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ballinger, Texas. She was 77 and a lifetime resident of Ballinger.
Irene was born in Ballinger June 8, 1931 to Willie C. and Myrtle (Barnett) Dodson. On August 2, 1947 she married Bobby Fred Farmer who preceded her in death August 27, 2007. For more than 25 years she was employed as secretary at First National Bank of Ballinger.
Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Lana Hamler.
She is survived by two sons, Scott Farmer and wife, Pat, of Gillette, WY, and Stephen Farmer and wife, Debi, also of Gillette, WY; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Shirley Wolverton and husband, Max, of Ballinger, Billie Simpson of San Angelo, and Christine Smith of Ballinger; sister-in-law, Virginia Farmer of Ballinger; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, October 8 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service for Irene Farmer will be held on Thursday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Old Runnels Cemetery in Ballinger.
