Ruby B. Ullrich

Ruby (Braden) Ullrich, 90, of Miles, died Saturday, November, 22, 2014 in Ballinger Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle for 61 years with Diabetes.

She was born August 3, 1924 in Rowena, TX to Hugo and Eleanor (Dierschke) Braden. She married Frank E. Ullrich in Rowena on November 27, 1945. They moved to their farm in the Miles area in 1946 and she worked as an office manager for the Miles Co-op Gin for 18yrs.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles and a member of St. Teresa Altar Society. She also served with the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries and loved being a Pink Lady. She enjoyed many things in life including attending the Senior Citizen Center in Miles, gardening, dominoes and dancing. Her big passion was cooking for her great grandchildren.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998; an infant son, Michael, her brother, James Braden, and her beloved grandson, Bobby Ullrich.

Survivors include her son, Allen Ullrich and wife, Suzanne of Miles; a granddaughter, Kathi Chitsey and husband, Corby, and great grandchildren, Maddi, Bobbi, and Colton Chitsey. Also surviving is a sister, Dorine Cmerek of Miles and a brother, Hugo Braden, Jr. of Upper Marlbaro, Maryland.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Miles. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, November 24, 2014 at St. Thomas with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla officiating and Deacon Stanley assisting. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena, TX.
