Jeanie Minzenmayer

November 5, 1936 — December 31, 2014

Wilma Jean “Jeanie” Minzenmayer, loving wife, mother, grandma, and best friend went to be with the Lord at age 78 on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

Jeanie was born on November 5, 1936 at her family’s home outside of Ballinger, TX to Charles and Anna (Fuchs) Dankworth. She attended Bethel School and graduated from Ballinger High School where she loved playing basketball. On April 12, 1955 she married Luther “Bud” Minzenmayer in Ballinger and began their married life in Winters, TX. There, Jeanie began working at the cotton compress in the accounting department. Rick and Ann came along in 1957 and 1960, respectively. In February of 1968, the family moved to Big Lake. After one and a half years in Big Lake, the family moved to Midland where home was for 23 years. During that time, Jeanie worked for Kent Oil Company heading up accounting department. She retired after 10 years of service. After retirement, Jeanie began working with a large furniture company in Midland placing furniture and assisting clients with their selections. The rest is history. Jeanie became a legend far and wide in Texas remodeling homes and interior design. They moved into their first home designed by her and built by Robert Heinze, whom became a long time friend, at Lake Nasworthy in 1982. They lived there for 15 years before moving to Ballinger to be closer to family and grandkids. Here, she designed and built her second home. She called upon general contractor, Robert, to assist her with the house. He told her “You don’t need me Jeanie” and she built it. She loved what she did, and everyone’s home was a blank canvas to make her mark on. She made friends everywhere she worked and loved the painters, carpenters, contractors, and owners that she worked with along the way. They became dearest friends and checked on her when she was ill. Jeanie especially loved her monthly Bunko and Bridge Club lady friends. She was an active member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She served on the church council and assisted in the renovations of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the design of the new St. Mary’s Hall that is currently under construction.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles, Ralph, and Herbie Dankworth, and sister Laverne Goetz and husband D.J. Goetz.
