Charles M. Gilles

Charles (Chuck) Michael Gilles, formerly of Abilene, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 at North Runnels Hospital in Winters.

Chuck was born January 4, 1939 in Houston, TX to Lawrence and Ernestine (Zigler). He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sgt. After receiving his Associates Degree, he began a career as an Oilfield Production Foreman. He married Gigette Goertz Newbrough on April 21, 2000 in Abilene.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and a sister.

Chuck is survived by his wife Gigette of Ballinger; his step-daughter Mylea Flanagan and husband Scott of Ballinger; four grandchildren; two nieces; and his special dog Pickles.
