Annie Lee Wiginton Smith, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2015.
She was born February 26, 1919 to John and Sadie Wiginton in Brownwood, TX. Annie was a 1936 graduate of Ballinger High School. She worked at Higginbotham’s where she met Charles Smith. They were married July 16, 1942. Annie and Charles lived 65 years in Metairie, a parish of New Orleans, Louisiana. Charles died in 2000 and Annie moved back to Ballinger.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
She is survived by nephews Kenneth Wiginton and wife Lou of Lampasas and Robie Martin and wife Barbara of Waco; nieces Joyce Spreen and husband Ralph of Ballinger and Sue Oxley and husband Larry of Vancourt; and many great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving; her adopted family Donna and Ken Picou, Jimmy, Lauren, and Domanic Signorillo of New Orleans and special friends Sophie Fuentes, Barbara Frey, Ruth Montumayor, Janice Kurtz, Allen Cole, Mark and Angie Halfmann, Selma Dietz, Robert Shultz, Norma Hadden, James Templeton, and Bob Harris; her caregivers Wanda Booe and Carolyn Harris.

Graveside services will be held at Jenkins Springs Cemetery at 11:00 am on Friday, January 30, 2015 with Ferris Akins and David Dunn officiating.
