Amy Humphreys, 93, of Abilene passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015 after a brief illness.
She was born January 19, 1922 in Grace City, North Dakota, the only child of Erle and Emma (Jenson) Hall. Following her graduation from business school, she joined the Women’s Army Crop. While in service she met and married Fred A. Humphreys. They were married for fifty two years.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her son Dale G. Humphreys and wife Beverley of Ridgeland, Mississippi and a daughter, Viane H. Talbott and husband David of Ballinger, TX. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Dr. Joy Clark and husband Jeb of Madison, MS, AnMichelle Lima and husband Ty of Montgomery, TX, and Scott Talbott and wife Tracy of Luther, OK. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, Kailyn McClanahan and husband Randal, Jackson McCarthy, Tyler Lima, Taryn Lima, Ashton, Ambree and Landon Talbott, and Cooper Clark.
The family would like to give special thanks to the 4th floor nursing staff of Abilene Regional Hospital, the staff of Hendricks Hospice and all her caregivers at Windcrest Care Center. Memorials can be made to Hendricks Hospice or a favorite charity.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, February 8 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at Lange Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 9 at 10:00 am with Ferris Akins officiating. Burial will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery.
