Ben H. Taylor, Jr.

Ben Taylor, Jr. of Ballinger, formerly of Bronte, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Ballinger Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 84.

He was born June 15, 1924 in Norton, Texas to Ben H., Sr. and Dillie Amanda (Rhodes) Taylor. Ben married Eula Mae Mitchell on November 19, 1954 in Lovington, New Mexico, and the couple farmed and ranched for many years in this area of West Texas. He loved to watch sporting events and enjoyed being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bill Dees, and by siblings, Bobbie Alexander, J. W. Taylor and Frank Taylor.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eula Mae, of Ballinger; and by two daughters, Genni Colombo and husband, Phillip, of Ballinger, and Penni Mohundro and husband, Randy, of DeLeon. Also surviving are a sister, Gene Lee of Ballinger; daughter-in-law, Jane Dees of Odessa; grandchildren, Tadd Dees of Mt. Pleasant, Colorado, Benjamin and Kaitlyn Mohundro of DeLeon, A.J. and B.J. Colombo of Ballinger; and great-grandchildren, John and Rachel Dees. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends Wednesday, December 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Broyles officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.

The family wishes to express appreciation for all of the wonderful care that was given during these last few months by Dr. Mark McKinnon and the staff of Ballinger Memorial Hospital.
