David Fuchs

January 1, 1933 — March 10, 2015

David John Fuchs passed away early on March 10, 2015 in a San Angelo hospital at the age of 82. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 13 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen, TX at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla officiating. Burial will follow at Olfen Cemetery.

David was born January 1, 1933 in his home in Olfen, TX to Jodey and Anne Hoelscher Fuchs. He attended school in Olfen and Rowena, graduating from high school in Rowena. David served in Germany during the Korean Conflict, and while there played some softball while in the Army. David was well liked in his community and was very active in church activities as well as Rowena Post 9196 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Olfen School Board. He was a talented woodworker with many projects through the years demonstrating this talent.
David married Joan Beatty in Tucson, AZ on February 23, 1974 and they spent 41 happy years together. He worked in commercial construction in Texas, Arizona, Nevada and California just to name a few. David and Joan retired and moved back home to Olfen in 1998 and lived there until his death.

David was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Shawn Fuchs, his sister, Rose Marie Kasberg and her husband, Bernie as well as his brother, Kenneth, brother-in-law, Dutch Hoelscher and several nieces and nephews.

David is survived by his wife, Joan of the home, daughter, Michelle Fuchs of San Angelo, son, Bill Beatty and wife Shari of Tucson, AZ, son, Robert Beatty and wife Jerri of Charlotte, NC, daughter-in-law, Elaine Fuchs of San Angelo, granddaughter, Monica Gilbert and husband Corey of San Angelo, grandson, Josh Fuchs and wife Amelia of San Angelo, grandson, Jason Fuchs of San Angelo, granddaughter, Melissa (MJ) Fuchs of San Angelo, grandson, Liam Beatty, grandson, Robbie Beatty, granddaughter, Jacquelyn Beatty, and grandson, Riley Beatty as well as great grandchildren Sophia Fuchs, Ty Gilbert, Madison Fuchs and Hank Beatty. He also leaves behind sister, Annalene Hoelscher of Rowena, brother, JB Fuchs and wife Ethel of Olfen, and sister-in-law Bernice Fuchs of Rowena and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

David will be missed by many! In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, https://www.michaeljfox.org or a charity of your choice. The family would also like to thank everyone at Community Hospital, Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation and all the other caregivers that helped him over the years.
