Robert Douglas Kresta

Robert D. Kresta of Ft. Stockton and formerly of Ballinger passed away Tuesday December 30, 2008 in Midland Memorial Hospital at age 81.

He was born October 30, 1927 in Ballinger to Julius L. and Roxie Ann (Eckert) Kresta. On June 27, 1950 he and Billie June Jones were married in Lovington, NM. The couple raised a family and spent many years farming the family place near Ballinger where they continued to visit frequently. Robert served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Robert and June moved to Ft. Stockton where they had lived for 35 years, and he was employed with the Firestone Test Center there until his retirement. He enjoyed operating amateur ham radio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Jerry Kresta.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, June Kresta of Ft. Stockton, a son Dave Kresta and his wife, Susie, of Odessa, and a granddaughter, Shaylynn Kresta of Odessa.

There will be a graveside service for Robert Kresta on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger with Rev. M. W. “Skip” Hill officiating.
