Barbra Ann Gray

Barbra Ann Gray, age 73, of Ballinger, went home to her heavenly Father and into the loving arms of her husband, Herchel, on Monday evening, January 5, 2009 at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born on April 13, 1935 in Littlefield, TX to Jack and Iris Ethel (Bamburg) Whitten. She married Herchel Gray on April 29, 1954 in Clovis NM. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2008.

She was also preceded by her parents; brothers, J.R. (Skeeter) Whitten, Billy (Red) Whitten, and Dale Merriott; and sisters, Lela May Oberlechner and Helen Jo Merrifield.

Barbra was a homemaker and very adept in arts and crafts. If she could see it, she could make it.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Harrell and husband, Tommy, Nalda Keesee and husband, David, and Tammie Mueller and husband, Steve, all of Ballinger; grandchildren, Tommy Harrell, Jr., Shellie Harrell, Herchel Harrell, Rhonda (Keesee) Molina, Lisa Keesee, Amanda (Mueller) King and Angela (Mueller) Reed; sisters, Mary Lou Garringer of Winters and Jackie Ercanbrack of Ballinger; and 19 great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday, January 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 9, 2009 at the First Church of God, 1301 Broad Avenue in Ballinger with graveside following in the Old Runnels Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herchel Harrell, Tommy Harrell, Jr., Rusty Oldham, Jalon Reed, Kelly King and Luke Molina.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia Society or a favorite charity.
