Louis D. Cavazos

Louis D. Cavazos, 68, of Ballinger, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at a local nursing home with family and loved ones around.

He was born April 4, 1940 in El Charco, Texas to Domingo, Sr. and Concha Cavazos. On February 18, 1959 he married Florinda Trevino. He was a carpenter and painter in the Ballinger area for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a baby twin sister; a brother, Adam; and a sister, Eva.

Louis is survived by his wife, Florinda of Ballinger; daughter, Christine Gonzales and husband, Rick, of San Angelo; sons, Alfred Cavazos and wife, JoAnn, of San Angelo, and Arnold Cavazos of Ballinger; six grandchildren, Val and Daniel Gonzales, Victoria and Elizabeth Cavazos, Vivian and Ashley Cavazos. Surviving brothers and sisters are Geneva, Mary, Mingo Jr., Charlie, Janie, Beatrice, Ramon, Tony, Irene, Bertha, Linda, and Gilbert; stepsisters, Lydia, Mary, and Amelia. Many nephews and nieces also survive.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Friday, January 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Dewey officiating. Burial will follow in the Latin-American Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arnold Cavazos, Alfred Cavazos, Tony Cavazos, Jesse Trevino, Rick Nieto, Daniel Gonzales, Seraprio Nieto, Jr. and Randy Hernandez.
