Bonnie J. Herring

Bonnie J. Herring, 79, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 3, 1929 in Bronte to Joe and Beulah Smith Brock. All her life she faithfully provided for her family and others as a homemaker and caregiver. She was a good, loving mother and grandmother and was especially devoted to her daughter, Debbie. Bonnie enjoyed cooking and went all out to cook for her children and her children’s friends, and she made special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries even more special with her love and her meals.

She is preceded in death by brothers, H. W. Brock and Billy Ray Brock, and by a granddaughter, April Lynn Ledbetter.

Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Jackie Kurtz and husband, Scott, and Debbie Herring, and a son, Jimmie Herring, and wife, Lynette, all of Ballinger; grandchildren, Christie Cassaday, Judd Shannon, Lacy Moreland, and Jordan Herring; and a sister, Nell Martin of Abilene. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, with one more coming.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Friday, January 16 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.
