Jimmy Branson “J. B.” Teters, 73, life-long resident of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, June 09, 2015 at his residence.

He was born February 25, 1942 in Ballinger to Alvin and Fannie (Cox) Teters. He was a proud graduate of Ballinger High School. After graduation, he went to work for WTU as a serviceman. J. B. will be remembered by many as the ultimate Bearcat fan and expert. His support for his beloved Bearcat team began at an early age when he would attend practices to watch and help. He was considered “team manager” from that time on, and his love and support of the Bearcats became a lifetime passion. J. B. became the official Bearcat statistician, keeping meticulous records, accurately recalling players and information mentally, and always supporting. He compiled a detailed Bearcat football history from the beginning of the program until 2012. With a true Bearcat heart, J. B. has done his part to help the Bearcat tradition live on.

J. B. was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, H. L.; brother-in-law, Jerry Hovarak; infant sister, Sara; niece, Trisha; and great-nephew, Jacob.
