Roman Adam Multer

Roman Adam Multer, 94, of Rowena passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in Ballinger.

He was born February 13, 1921 in Olfen, TX to Leo and Adela Gully Multer. He attended school in Olfen and Ballinger and graduated from Ballinger High School in 1939. After graduation, he served in the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II. He was a Tech Sergeant in the 8th Army Company, 269 Ordinance and was stationed in the Pacific. Roman married Gladys Moeller on August 5, 1946 in Rowena. He farmed in the Rowena area his entire life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Post 9196 VFW Rowena and the Sons of Hermann Rowena Lodge 216. Roman also represented Germania Insurance in the area.

Roman was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Gladys Multer; his parents, Leo and Adela Multer; brothers, Alfred and Curtis Multer; and sister Sidona Droll.

He is survived by his six children, John Multer of San Angelo, Ramona Gratton and husband Terry of Arlington, Marsha Arvedson and husband Steve of Houston, Mark Multer and wife Lou Ann of San Angelo, Tony Multer and wife Norma of Rowena, and Mary Dee Michalewicz and husband Thomas of Buda; grandchildren, Liz Steiner, Michael Gratton, Jonathan Arvedson, Amy Anderson, Lindsey Jones, Richard Multer, Robert Multer, Alisha Multer, Abbey Multer, Adam Multer, Rachel Michalewicz, Andrey Michalewicz, and Aleksandr Michalewicz; and great-grandchildren, Reed Multer, Wyatt Anderson, and Joshua Steiner. Also surviving his sister-in-law, Mary Lou Multer and brother-in-law, Harvey Droll.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 13 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla and Msgr Larry Droll concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena.
