Jimmie Dean Harrell, 58, of Abilene passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
He was born November 30, 1956 in Ballinger, TX to Dave and Geneva (Owens) Harrell. After high school, Jimmie began a life long career as a welder. One of his special, job-related projects was constructing catwalks for Smith Pipeline. He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, finding bargains in antique shops, and gardening, but he was happiest when he was with his beloved grandchildren.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his children, Amanda Houston of Merkel and Joshua Dean Harrell of Synder; his grandchildren, Riston Houston, Rayson Houston, Adyson Houston, Quinton Harrell, Madison Harrell, and Cason Harrell; his mother, Geneva “Peggy” Harrell of Ballinger; his brothers, Freddy Harrell of Santa Anna, Dave Harrell of Ballinger, Tommy Harrell of Ballinger, and Chipper Harrell of McAllen; and sister, Phoebie Crosby of Rowena.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 12 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 13 at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating.
