Stephen Lynn Kershman

Stephen Lynn Kershman, 57, of Talpa passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 in Ballinger.

He was born November 6, 1951 in Beaver, Oklahoma to Chester Kershman and Geneva Williams Sensabaugh. He was employed as a mechanic and also ranched. During the Vietnam War he served his country in the Marine Corps. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and for several years he built cars and raced in Abilene. He loved football, the outdoors and especially his critters—his beloved buddies, “Porkchop” and “Tabitha.” He attended the First Presbyterian Church in Ballinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather, Oscar Sensabaugh.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Condra Kershman of Talpa; daughter, Jessica Kershman and fiancé, Drew Elliott of Abilene; son, Stephen Kershman of Abilene; daughter, Stacy Lindemann and her family; two step daughters, Valerie Braswell and husband, Blake of Bronte and Ginger Ivie and husband Marty of Lovington, NM; sisters, Marlis Ashton and Patricia Schwertner both of Ballinger, Diana Bryan of Garland, and Linda Kershman of Quinland; and a brother, Stanley Kershman of Mullin. Also surviving are four granddaughters, one grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 8 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bert Bronaugh officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Norwood Cemetery.
