Malcolm Davis

Malcolm Carl “Papa Mack” Davis of San Angelo passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo. He was 76 years old.

He was born May 26, 1932 in Ballinger to Clayton and Jimmie Davis. On June 21, 1955 he married Patricia Darlene Kraatz, who preceded him in death April 24, 1977. He then married Rosemary Bradley February 14, 1983. During the Korean War he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an engineer and started a career with Texas Cablevision, working in the cablevision business until his retirement in 1985. Two of his greatest pleasures were his computer and his puppy, “Isabella.” He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Paula Davis.

“Papa Mack” is survived by his wife, Rosemary Davis, of the home; and by his daughters, Carla Kasberg and husband, Eugene, of Miles; Darla Mullins and husband, Kyle, of Helotes; and Julie Evans and husband, Wes of Mertzon. Also surviving are sisters, Doris Cadenhead of Arlington, and Lynda Davis Wood of London, Ohio; brothers, Clayton Davis and Milton Davis both of Ballinger, and Paul Davis of Stanton; five grandchildren, Lacy Allison, Sabrina Leuthold, Brittany Kasberg, Baylea Evans, and Zachery Mullins; and three great-grandchildren, Noah and Christian Leuthold, and Davis Allison.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends on Monday, February 9 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Ballinger Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. George Cooper officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be all the friends and co-workers he worked with in the cablevision industry.
