Clarence Edward Goetz, 85, of Rowena passed away Monday, September 7, 2015 in Nevada.

He was born on December 1, 1929 to Otto and Augusta (Tessmer) Goetz, in Williamson County, Copeland, Texas. He married Regina Janca on November 21, 1949 in Rowena, Texas. They were married 65 year. He was a constable for Precinct No. 7 from February 1, 1965 to December 31, 1984. He was owner of Goetz Grocery from 1972 to 1986. He was also a farmer, truck driver, and R.V.O.S. Insurance agent. Clarence was also a charter member of the Rowena Volunteer Fire Department.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Herbert, Herman, and Bill Goetz; and one daughter, Sharon M. Goetz in 2010.

He is survived by his wife; his children, Jean Gully and husband, Leonard, Wayne Goetz and wife, Sharon, Loretta Gully and husband, Charles, Linda Gully and husband, Stanley, and Sheri Goetz and Bobby Coleman; 11 grandsons and spouses; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Also a very special nephew Emmett and his spouse Betty Laza.

Pallbearers will be Bryon and Steven Scrivener, Grant and Stacy Goetz, and Lance and Jason Gully.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 13 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 14 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla, Fr. Tom Barley, J.V., and Deacon Stanley Lange co-celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena.

The family request that memorials be made to the Rowena Volunteer Fire Department, The American Heart Association, or a favorite charity. Also, the family would like to thank the director and staff of Lange Funeral Home for all of their help in planning Clarence’s services.
