Our dearest Wilfred passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Wilfred was born on September 25, 1927 to Ben and Annie (Kahlig) Holtman. Wilfred married his sweetheart friend, Mary Ann Halfmann, on October 28, 1946. They farmed and lived in Olfen, Texas the majority of their life and they retired to Rowena in 1976.
Wilfred’s favorite past time was spent with his family playing dominoes and cards. He also enjoyed going on the many vacations with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and is probably the best fisherman around.
Wilfred is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years Mary Ann, his son Danny Holtman & wife Jeanie of San Angelo, his daughters, Barbara Hipp of Katy, Texas, Janice Johnson and husband, Chester, of LaGrange, Texas and Debbie Farris and husband, Randy, of San Angelo. He is also survived by eight grand children – Curtis Holtman, Christie Slaton, Traci Seely, Tonya Bronikowski, Stephanie Braden, Roxanne Johnson, Lance and Landon Farris. He is survived by 14 great grandchildren. Surviving in-laws are Werner and Kay Halfmann, Jeanie & Charles Looka, and Jane Holtman.
Wilfred was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ray Allen Holtman, and son, John Peter, in-laws, Tommy Hipp, Theo & Emma Halfmann, Wilburn & Ruby Dell Pelzel, Ralph & Dorothy Gerngross.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rowena and Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ariel Lagunilla officiating and deacon, Stanley Lange co-celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Olfen.
Memorials can be made to St. Boniface Cemetery fund or Rowena Building fund.
