Lois G. Hubbert

Lois Glenn Gilbreth Hubbert, 94, of Ballinger passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2009 at Ballinger Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Jack Leander Hubbert with whom she shared 59 wonderful years. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1991.

Lois was born November 24, 1914 in San Saba County. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie Waine and Allie Lee (Martin) Gilbreth and had lived in Ballinger for the past 35 years moving here from West Covina, California.

Lois enjoyed life immensely and took great joy in cooking, quilting, gardening, and being a grandmother, mother, sister, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Norman Gilbreth, a sister, Jean Kjome, and a grandson, Kevin Norton. Lois is survived by her daughters, Joyce McClure, and husband Don of Kerrville, TX; Jackie Peters of Ballinger, TX; and a son, Jim Hubbert, and wife Fran of Rancho Murieta, CA; a sister, Bert Middleton, of Ballinger; 8 grandchildren, Terri Soderwall and husband Scott, David Bradshear, both of Ballinger, TX; Vicki Lee and husband Dan, of Whittier, CA; Toni Penn, and husband Ryan of La Verne, CA; Jeff Peters, and wife Christine of Glendora, CA; Dr. Jennifer Hubbert, and husband Dr. Jay Crary of Vancouver, WA; Julie Swan and husband Dan of Bentwood, CA; and Sharon Tanner, and husband Dennis of Herber, UT; 17 great- grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She lived her life for family and friends and will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends during visitation Tuesday, March 3 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Joe Chamness officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Soderwall, David Bradshear, Dan Lee, Jeff Peters, Randy Robinson and William Rohmfeld. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
