Pauline Pena Mata

Pauline Pena Mata, 51, of Ballinger passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at her residence.

Pauline was born June 15, 1957 in Ballinger to Cruz Pena, Sr. and Juanita Medrano Pena.
On April 4, 1981 she married Thomas Mata, Jr. who preceded her in death November 6, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Pena. Pauline was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She also worked as a nurses’ aide in the nursing home.

She is survived by her husband, Alex Rivera of Ballinger; children, Tommy Mata, Blanca Rivera, and Scott Rivera all of Ballinger; sisters, Irene Escobar of Ballinger, Alice Rodriquez of Abilene, Dena King of Ballinger; and a brother, Cruz Pena, Jr. of Ballinger.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Divad Briones and Kiara Mata (and one on the way).

Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 3 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger with Rev. Hugh Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories.
