Charles Patrick Glass, 29, of Rowena,Texas, loved son of Burnell and Carmen Glass, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 in San Angelo, Texas.
Rosary will be prayed by the community at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 17 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m Thursday, February 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Angelo, co-celebrated by Fr. Emilio Sosa and Fr. Ariel Lagunilla. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rowena.
Charles was born August 31, 1986, in Odessa, Texas. He attended and graduated from Miles High School in 2005. Charles then served in the United States Army. He completed boot camp at Ft. Jackson S.C.and was stationed at Ft. Leonardwood MO.,and for his last eight months of enlistment at Ft. Drum, N.Y. Charles was employed by
American Roofing in upstate New York.
Charles was baptized Catholic by the Rev. Kevin Heyburn on Jan. 12, 1992, received First Holy Communion by the Rev. Maurice J. Voity, and was confirmed by the Most Rev. Michael Pfeifer, OMI,. He was an altar mass server for many years and a member of the KC Squires in Rowena. Later, he was a member of the Cathedral Church of the Sacred Heart Youth Group. He was blessed with a strong Christian faith and had a caring heart for his family and friends. Charles was a fun loving country guy and enjoyed by all those who knew him best.
Most recently, March 2015, Charles moved to New York to join his future wife Jennifer Farr. On January 2016, they welcomed their daughter, Cherokee, who joined her siblings, Cheyenne, Brian Jr., and Benjamin. The family moved back to this area on January 25, 2016, making their home in Paint Rock, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his brother Tracy Paul Glass. His grandparents, W.E. Holliman, Vernon Glass and Eileen Glass.
Charles is survived by Jennifer and children; his parents; his grandmother, Clara Holliman of San Angelo; aunts and uncles, Ricka and Dennis Hambrick of Oklahoma, Donna and Stuart Gully of Wall, aunt Mary Helen Glass of San Antonio. Also surviving are his many neices and nephews; extended members of Jennifer’s family; and many cousins and close friends that will miss him.
