Juan Jose Martinez, 61, passed away Wednesday, May 5th, 2016 at his home in Ballinger, Texas.
Juan was born July 24, 1954, to Sostenes Martinez and Eusebia Garza. He had two sisters and five brothers, Sostenes Martinez, Juana Sonia Martinez, Sergio Arturo Martinez, Estanislao Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Roberto Martinez, and Juana De Los Angeles Garza.
On December 7, 1979, he married Esperanza (Hope) Rivera in Ballinger. Juan worked as an agriculture laborer and was known for his gentle, kind hearted ways and love for his wife and family. He was a member of St. Mary's Star of the Sea Catholic Church of Ballinger and St. Joseph Catholic Church of San Angelo, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esperanza Martinez; and brother, Miguel Martinez.
Juan is survived by sons, Juan Jose Martinez Jr. of Odessa TX and Caesar Martinez of Ballinger; daughters, Lisa Quirino of San Angelo, Vickie Trevino of Dallas, and Nanette White of Columbia SC. Juan has nine grandchildren, Rachel Janes of Columbia SC, Leana Noriega of San Angelo, Naomi Vigil of Georgetown TX, Loraine Quirino of Keller TX, Alexis Quirino of San Angelo, Jerry Don Flores of Ballinger, Christopher Quirino of San Angelo, Naudia Trevino of Dallas, Cristiano Quirino of San Angelo. Juan has two great grandchildren, Aubrey Noriega and Berry Noriega of San Angelo. He has 13 nieces and 17 nephews, 16 great-nieces and 22 great-nephews.
Rosary was recited Saturday, May 7, at 7:00 pm at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, May 9, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ballinger with Fr. Hugh Wade and Fr. Emilio Sosa con-celebrating. Burial was in the Latin-American Cemetery.
