Ruby Nell Miller Bryan

Ruby Nell Miller Bryan, 83, of Ballinger passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Ashwood Manor in Ballinger.

She was born on January 17, 1933 to Mofford and Henrietta (Chamberlain) Shumate in McCulloch County, TX. She married Billy Joe Miller on July 13, 1948 in Goldthwaite, Texas. They shared forty three years together before his passing in 1991. Ruby began a career as a real estate broker and also owned and operated a weight loss business. She was a faithful member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger. On May 4, 2001, she married Alton C. Bryan. After sharing 15 loving years together, he passed away on October 30, 2015.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Williams and husband, Carl of Ballinger, Nikki Lowe and husband, Robin of Ballinger, and Lana Burns and husband, Patrick of Stephenville; her grandchildren, Kristi Goetz and husband, Jason and their children, Avery, Ali, and Miller; Craig Lowe; Brent Lowe and wife, Kristin and their children, Billy Lowe and his children, Cooper and Creed, Savanah, Bailey, and Meagan; Kara Davis and husband, Dan and their children, Alyse, Brandon, and Hunter; Travis Fuller and his son, Trent; and P.J. Burns and wife, Brittany and their daughter, Blakely; and her brother, Jess Shumate of Brookesmith. Also surviving are Alton Bryan’s children, Brad and Terri Bryan and family, Carolyn and Pete Parker and family, and Sonny and Mel Stanley and family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00-8:00 pm on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held a 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 6, at Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger. Burial will follow at Cox Cemetery in Brookesmith.
