Glenda Cook Willingham

Glenda Ellene Cook Willingham, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 5, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was born February 14, 1941 in Ballinger, to Walter Vincent and Thresa (Laxton) Cook. She married Jerry Willingham on September 17, 1960 in Ballinger and enjoyed over 55 years together.

Glenda was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ballinger Woman’s Club, Third Thursday Bridge Club and a charter member of the Friends of the Library and also Christmas in April.

She was preceded in death by her parents

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Willingham, of Ballinger; sons, Jerry V. and wife, Roxane of Austin, Mark A. and wife, Lisa of Ballinger, and Todd W. and wife, Karen of Fredricksburg; her grandchildren, Ashley Gurley and husband, Jared, Chris Willingham, Meagan Daniels and husband, Matt, Jessica David and husband, Russell, Katelyn Willingham, Matthew Willingham and Michael Willingham; great-grandchildren, Blake and Cameron Gurley.

A memorial service will take place Monday, August 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ballinger with Brother Bobby Broyles officiating. A visitation for family and friends will follow in the family center of the church.
