Anita Lucille (Lucy) Patton Hays, 65, of Ballinger passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 in San Angelo.

She was born April 1, 1951 to Raymond and Essie Vee (Nail) Patton in Abilene, Texas. Lucy married Larry Wayne Hays on February 5, 1972 in Blackwell, Texas. They shared forty four loving years together. She worked for Ballinger National Bank, formerly Farmers and Merchants State Bank for over forty years as a cashier and Vice President. Lucy was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger. She participated in the church choir and the Pioneer Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the Hospital Auxiliary Board, and the Carnegie Library Board.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, William “Bill” and Dorothy Smith Hays.

She is survived by her husband Larry of Ballinger; her children, Amy Baird and husband, Michael of Wall, TX, Carol Gully and husband, Brent of St. Lawrence, TX; her grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Allison, Meredith, Kelsey, and Sydnee; her brother, Don Patton and wife, Carol of College Station; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Jones and husband, Jerry of Bosier City, LA; and numerous nephews and cousins, including special cousin, Mike Patton and wife, Shaula. Also surviving are countless special friends that she cherished dearly.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 17 at the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger with Rev. Gary Watson and Rev. Buddy Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.

The family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger, the Ballinger Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, The Carnegie Library, or a favorite charity.
