Wanda G. Switzer

Wanda G. Switzer, 86, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

She was born December 10, 1929 in Concho County, Texas to Ralph Edgar and Elsie Pearl (Gray) Green. After high school, she attended Business College and began a forty five year career as a bookkeeper. She worked for Citizen’s State Bank in Miles, Texas. She married Dawse E. Switzer on September 2, 1951 in San Angelo, TX. They shared fifty nine years together before his passing on February 12, 2011. Wanda was an active member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Terry; brothers, R.E., Lloyd, Bill, Jim, Fat, and Bigon; and sisters, Opal Stockbridge, Claudia Smith, Juanita Bowman and Goldie Killian.

She is survived by her son, David Switzer and wife, Nancy of Ballinger; her daughter-in-law, Terre Switzer of North Little Rock, AR; her grandchildren, Daron Switzer and wife, Jennifer of Cabot, AR, Seth Switzer and wife, Cerina of San Angelo, Katy Davis and husband, Josh of Ballinger, Morgan Hanson and husband, Gary of Sweet Home, OR; her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Amberly, Micade, Mirenda, Peighton, Cheyenne, Avery, Saxton, Camden, Alexander, and Myla; sister-in-law, Margaret Green of San Angelo; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-7:00 pm on Friday, October 14 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 15 at the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at the Mereta Cemetery.
