Sharon Lee Bowen, 65, of Ballinger died at her home Sunday, October 23, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on May 11, 1951 in Ballinger, Texas to George William Harris and Agnes Anna (Fischer) Parker. She married Robert Wayne Bowen on November 5, 1983 at the Ballinger Fire Department. They shared twenty seven years together before his passing on December 23, 2010. Sharon worked as the Animal Control Officer for the Ballinger Police Department for twenty years. During that time, she attended many animal control schools and was very adept in her job. She retired from that position on April 15, 2016. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Ballinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two children, Michael Everett Bowen and Barbara Kay Covington.
Sharon is survived by a son, Willie Covington, of Ballinger; daughters, Chrysti Cate of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Barrow of Ballinger, Cathy Jo Cook of San Angelo, and Michelle Baird of Goldthwaite; by her sisters, Georgean Dove and husband Jerry of Llano and Jolene Harris of Odessa; and a brother, Chester Parker, Jr. and wife Kay of Corsicana, TX; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 27 at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 28 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger with Fr. Yesu Mulakaleti and Fr. Hubert Wade celebrating. Burial will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery.
