Allen David Book

Allen David Book, 61, of Miles, TX, and Opelousas, LA, died on Monday, October 31, 2016 outside of Miles. Born on November 6, 1954 in San Angelo to Clarence John and Mary Ann (Eggemeyer) Book, he was a graduate of the University of Houston. Spending years in Louisiana starting a family, Allen made a professional mark as a business owner and engineer and a lasting mark as a father. He had a passion for the outdoors and for gardening, spending time between Texas and Louisiana never too far from family.

Allen is survived by his mother, Mary Ann; brothers, Howard (Janet), Charles (Mary), and Nelson (Julie) Book; sisters, Sharon Barmore (Johnny) and D’Ann Moreno (Steven); children, John, Trent, and Kellie Book; a grandchild, Charley; numerous cousins; many nieces and nephews; and a number of devoted friends. Allen was preceded in death by his father and several beloved aunts and uncles.
A Rosary will be offered at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Allen’s name to a favorite charity.
