John Bascom (J.B.) Terry, Jr., 88, of Ballinger passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016.
He was born February 23, 1928 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to John Bascom and Nellie (Minor) Terry. After graduating from Midland High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a staff sergeant and later joined the Texas National Guard. He married Myldred Ann Hash, in Midland, TX, on December 31, 1948. They shared sixty six years together before her passing on January 22, 2014. They owned and operated Hash and Terry Welding where J.B. was a master machinist and ran the welding shop until retiring. Myldred and J.B. also shared a love for stained glass and many of their masterpieces can be seen in churches throughout the area. He was a member of the Heights Baptist Church.
J.B. was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myldred; and sisters, Nellie Hughes and Lou Bliss.
He is survived by his children, Gayle Terry Corbin and husband, Michael of Spring, TX, John David Terry and wife, Jane of Pearland, TX, Kathy June Terry of Ballinger, and Elisabeth Baker and husband, Dan of Round Rock, TX; a sister, Lois Auguston; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at the Heights Baptist Church in San Angelo with Dr. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger.
