Gwendolyn Clayton

Gwendolyn Clayton, 96, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 11, 1920 in Millersview, Texas to Frank and Iva Edmonson. She married Hestwood Clayton on August 1, 1946 in Ballinger. They were married for 32 years before his passing on September 26, 1978. She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church in Ballinger.

Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two siblings, and a daughter-in-law.

She is survived by her children, Jim Clayton of Ballinger, Manse Clayton and wife, Cheryl of Ballinger, and Marlena Owens and husband, Jimmy of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation and a private graveside service will be held on Monday, December 26 at Norwood Cemetery in Ballinger with Jimmy Crawford officiating.

The family would like to give out a special thank you to all the staff at the Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for taking great care of our mother.
