Johnny Daniel King

Johnny Daniel King, 70, of Miles, Texas passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Ballinger under the care of Interim Hospice.

He was born October 8, 1946 to William Travis and Margie Mozelle (Boatright) King in Miles and San Angelo, Texas. Johnny worked for Cameron Whole Sale as their truck driver for several years and he also worked for Gandy’s. Johnny grew up in Miles and lived in San Angelo. When Johnny and Kathleen Lee married in 2001 they moved back to Miles and shared sixteen wonderful years together. Johnny loved his family and his animals. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for being one of the good guys.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents William Travis and Margie Mozelle King.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Travis King of San Angelo, Mona Wheeler and son in law Michael Wheeler of Miles; his grandchildren, Dallas, Nathaniel, and Zackary; and his stepchildren, Sean Cooney and Brenda Cooney both of California; his step grandchildren Tabbitha, Amber, Sean Jr., David and Kathleen and his great grandkids Aniah and Maya in California as well as 28 foster children.

He is also survived by his two beloved dogs Maggie and Annie whom he loved very much.

The family would like to thank Interim Hospice staff and Ballinger Health care staff for the great care they provided for Johnny.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 25 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger by Chaplin Jim Hargrove.
