Martin Blesing

August 14, 1929 — February 27, 2017

Martin Blesing, 87, of Ballinger, Texas passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 in Yukon, Oklahoma.

He was born August 14, 1929 to Nute and Cordelia Blesing at Travis Peak, TX. On December 19, 1953, Martin married his lovely wife in Liberty Hill, TX. After graduating from Sul Ross University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry, he served 4 years in the US Navy. After his service to our nation, he worked 30 years for the USDA Soil Conservation Service as a Range Conservationist. He has been a long time faithful member of the Church of Christ and loved farming and ranching.

Martin is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert Lee Blesing and George Elmo Blesing and one sister Ella Mae Reimers.

He is survived by his wife, Iwanda; his children, Dana Blesing of Ballinger, Randle Blesing and wife Tonya of Georgetown, Rondle Blesing and wife Kaila of Ballinger, and Jana Barnes and husband, Mark of Yukon, OK; eight grandchildren, Sarah Christian and husband Seth of Miles, Bethanie Cody and husband John of Pflugerville, Stephanie Mills and husband Brent of Leander, Adam Barnes of Edmond, OK, David Blesing and wife Hanna of Sonora, Katie Walker and husband Paul of Edmond, OK, Phillip Blesing and wife Lilly of Flower Mound, and Shelby Blesing of Georgetown, and 8 wonderful great-grandchildren, Aiden, Will, Whitney, Evelyn, James, Kelbi, Harper, and Brenlee.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, March 3 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 4 at the Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Max Pratt and Royce Williamson officiating.
