Helen Marie Fisher

Helen Marie (Dornhoefer) Fisher, age 99 of Ballinger, passed away Thursday evening, October 8, 2009 in Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center

A Rosary/Visitation service is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena with Fr. Bhaskar Morugudi celebrating and Fr. Hugh Wade assisting. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

She was born on November 5, 1909 in Rockdale, Texas to Richard and Mary (Brown) Dornhoefer. She married Arthur Fisher on December 28, 1931 in Rowena. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. Helen cooked for the Lowake Steak House for over 30 years and after retiring and moving to Ballinger, she became a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerome Fisher; a daughter, Mary Ann Jones; a daughter-in-law, Deanie Fisher; and by all her brothers and sisters.

Helen is survived by two sons, Robert Fisher of Ballinger and Donald Fisher and his wife, Trish of Tuscola; a son-in-law, Willis Terry Jones of Ballinger; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
