Robert Rockne King

Robert Rockne King, 83, of Midland, went to be with the Lord on Monday October 30, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas to Joseph and Hazel King.
Robert grew up in Paint Rock, Texas where he met Virginia. They went on to wed in 1955, that same year he joined the Airforce where he served until 1963. While serving they lived in several different places before finally settling down in Midland. Here they raised two kids; Ann and David. Robert and Virginia were married for 56 years when she passed away in 2011.
Robert worked for Continental Airlines for 21 years, retiring in 1984. He then went on to work for MISD for several years before finally deciding to fully embrace the retirement life.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, and other loved ones. He liked watching scary movies, and playing practical jokes on his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing with his fur babies.
He is survived by his daughter Ann King; son and daughter-in-law, David and Debbie King all from Midland; Four grandchildren, Amber Knapp and husband Devin, Cody King and wife Mattie, Raymond King, and Devin King; One great granddaughter, Natalie Knapp; a sister Kay Nesmith and husband Jack from Conway, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia.
Visitation will be Friday November 3rd at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas from 11:00 – 12:00 pm. Services will also be held at Lange Funeral home same day at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Paint Rock Cemetery in Paint Rock, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Cody King, Raymond King, Devin King, Devin Knapp, Mike Pardue, and Barry Hipp.
