Ursula S. Tinsley

Ursula S. (Block) Tinsley, 95, of Ballinger passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Runnels County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born March 12, 1914 in Olfen Community, Runnels County, Texas to Franz and Bertha (Ledig) Block, both of whom were born in Germany. Ursula attended school in Rowena, and in 1930 she married Virgil M. McMullen in Menard. Mr. McMullen passed away July 17, 1963. On July 19, 1964 she married Eldred Cornelius Tinsley of Ballinger who preceded her in death February 24, 1981. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society and worked as a nurses’ aide for a number of years.

Mrs. Tinsley is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, including Roy and Sandra Rollwitz of Rowena.

There will be a time of visitation for family and friends Thursday, November 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 20 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ballinger with Rev. Hugh Wade officiating. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Olfen.
