Daniel Henry (Danny) Beimer, 68, of Ballinger went home to his Savior on Saturday, November 21, 2009 after an illness.
Daniel was born August 31, 1941 in the farm home of his parents, Walter Gerhardt and Cordulla Moeller Beimer, who preceded him in death. Daniel attended St. Joseph School in Rowena, Texas graduating in 1959. He was initially a farmer and shepherd. Daniel met Martha Gail Wilson in 1962. They were married in 1966 and had two children, Melissa Anne and Anthony Lynn.
Daniel became a farm implement mechanic, and preferred the red ones. He worked at Ballinger Truck and Tractor and then at Concho Valley Implement Company from which he retired in 2003. He attended the First United Methodist Church in Ballinger for many years, singing in the choir and being an usher. Enjoying music, he was a member of the original Ballinger Community Choir, wherein he grew into a more open and loving friend, spreading joy into many lives. He particularly enjoyed duets as one half of the team of Danny and Danny. Daniel was adored by many children who called him "tickle monster." There were always games and giggles wherever he was.
Daniel served in the United Stated Army Reserve and the Texas National Guard for sixteen years. He was a tank mechanic and enjoyed serving our nation in that way. He left the Guard with an E-6 rank.
The lights of his life were his children and grandchildren. Melissa and her husband, Shawn Wade, have two girls, Emily Noelle and Rachel Belle. They live in Lubbock. He began going to Lubbock to babysit when Emily was six weeks old and did that often until his illness forced him to stop. Anthony and his wife, Jennifer, presented Daniel with Avery Brooke and Jace Henry, who is named for his "Papa." They live in McKinney.
Daniel gave piggy back rides, horsey rides, and took the children to the playground every chance he had. In turn, they let him become their best toy.
Daniel is survived by Melissa Anne and Shawn Wade, Emily and Rachel of Lubbock; Anthony and Jennifer Beimer, Avery and Jace of McKinney; brothers and their families, Leon and Adonna of Rowena; Howard and Denise of Ballinger; Glen and Laura of Anahuac; two nephews and five nieces; three aunts, Alice Wilde, Mary Moeller and Lillie Schwertner; one uncle, Roman Multer; and many cousins.
