Coy LaVon Cochran, 74, of Ballinger passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at San Angelo Community Medical Center.
He was born September 23, 1935 in Cowcreek, Texas to William Emmett and Goldie Pearl (Young) Cochran. On May 29, 1955 he and Dorothy Pearl Turner were married in Slaton. He had lived in the community since 1967 and was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church. He was a diesel mechanic and worked at Faubion Implement Company as a parts man for several years.
Coy is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cochran of Ballinger; son, Steven Cochran and wife, Cynthia of Cross Plains; daughters, Valerie Carlisle, Robin Klaras both of Ballinger, and Shelly Lerch and husband, Mark of San Angelo; brother, Clovis Cochran of Brady; and sisters, Gwen Brandt and husband, Cecil of Agua Dulce and Alice Brown and husband, Kenneth of Brady; 12 grandchildren and 13 ¾ great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special friends, Heidi Heathcot, Gary Harrel, the Fulton Family, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger with Rev. David Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Old Runnels Cemetery.
