He was born April 5, 1968 to John and Sammie (Perkins) Wright, Sr. in Winters. John was self-employed, working as a general contractor, for most of his life. He married Lucindy Stratton on April 10, 1993 in Winters. He was a member of the Pioneer Church of God. John was loved by many and was the kindest man, willing to help anyone, no matter the circumstances. His favorite hobby was fishing and he loved his family.
John is survived by his wife, Lucindy of Winters; two sons, Billy John Weatherford and wife, Christina Delgado of Ballinger and John Ray Wright of Winters; two daughters, Angel Stratton and boyfriend, Carl Lane and Cindy Wright all of Winters; three adopted children, Justin, Stacie, and McKenzie Ventress ofWinters; one granddaughter, Sarah Alexis Weatherford of Ballinger; one brother, Doyle Wright of Winters; two sisters, Frances McDonald and husband, Mickel of Winters and Glenda Eldred and husband, Mack of Ballinger; brothers-in-law, Billy Weatherford of Ballinger and Heath Stratton and wife, Susie of Brady; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stratton; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Margaret Stratton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00-8:00 pm on Thursday at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday at the First Baptist Church in Winters. Burial will follow at Wilmeth Cemetery.
