Elizabeth A. Gerngross

Elizabeth Gerngross, 92, of Rowena passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.

She was born October 1, 1917 to Henry and Lydia (Schindler) Schraer in Shiner, Texas.
Ellizabeth and Rudolph Leonard Gerngross, Sr. were married January 31, 1938 in Rowena where the couple made their home. Mr. Gerngross preceded her in death August 17, 1989. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen. She was also a member of Christian Mothers of St. Boniface.

Preceding her in death were her parents and husband; daughter, Loretta Michaelwicz and her husband, Don; and daughter-in-law, Lucille Gerngross.

Mrs. Gerngross is survived by her children, Greg Gerngross and wife, Mary Jo, of Baird; Natalie Lange and husband, Steve, of Rowena; Rudy Gerngross, Jr. and Mary Lou Gerngross both of San Angelo. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and nine step great-great-grandchildren

Rosary and visitation will be Wednesday, February 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home Chapel in Ballinger. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Olfen with Rev. Chinnapparaj (Fr. Paul) Mariasavary officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
