Billie Simpson, 80, of Christian Village in San Angelo and formerly of Ballinger, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at her residence.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. A graveside service will be held Monday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Runnels Cemetery near Ballinger, with Rev. Bert Bronaugh officiating.

Billie was born on August 22, 1929 in Ballinger to William C. and Myrtle Barnett Dodson. She graduated high school and married Chester Aubrey Simpson on October 18, 1947 in Ballinger. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1998. She was also preceded by her parents; three sisters, Lillian Feeler, Christine Smith and Irene Farmer and two brothers, William C. Dodson and R. N. Dodson.

Billie was employed by Dallinger Hardware for many years and then worked for the First National Bank of Ballinger for many years as a vice president. After retiring for awhile, she took on the task of Executive Director for the Ballinger Chamber of Commerce for a few more years, before moving to the Christian Village in San Angelo in 2007, where she enjoyed cards, dominoes, and mug time and loved visiting with people.

She is survived by her son, Charles Simpson anf wife, Kay of Carmel, Indiana; her granddaughter (The light of her life), Tracy Schrieber and husband, Tim of Carrolton: her sister, Shirley Wolverton and husband, Max of Ballinger and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Simpson and Flora Belle Watson and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.

Billie loved golf, cards, dominoes and country music. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
