Arnold Charles Frerich

Arnold Charles Frerich, 78, of Rowena passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 doing what he loved.

Arnold was born on April 25, 1931 in Runnels County to Ben and Katie Frerich. He married the love of his life, Alice Halfmann, on January 11, 1955 in Olfen.

Arnold led a life of service to his church, his country, and his community. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th degree, served proudly in the United States Army, honorably discharged after the Korean War, and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rowena Post #9196. He was also a representative of Catholic Life Insurance for 35 years and enjoyed being active with the Earthmoving Contractors Association of Texas.

Arnold’s greatest joy in life was being a devoted husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He enjoyed life the most when he was operating a piece of equipment or visiting with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Clifton Wayne Frerich.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; sons, Charles and wife Linda, and John and wife Paula; and daughter, Maxine Michalewicz and husband Clifton, all of Rowena. Also surviving are grandchildren, Patrick Frerich and wife Wendy, Adam Frerich and wife Amanda, Trisha Hunter and husband Jeffrey, Blake Frerich, Kortni Vanicek and husband Wes, Shelby Kalina and husband Jacob, Shayna Frerich and fiancée Justin Neighbors, and Zane, Alex, Lance and Lauren Michalewicz. Great-grandchildren include Isabella Frerich, Carson Hunter, and two on the way. He is also survived by four brothers, one sister, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Rosary and visitation will be on Thursday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church con-celebrated by Father Chinnapparaj Mariasavary and Msgr. Larry Droll. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to St. Joseph Building Fund or a charity of choice.
